EE launches the UK’s first ever fleet of superfast 4G taxis in London and BirminghamEE has announced that it is entering into partnership with mobile security company MobileIron.

The partnership will enable the mobile phone operator to be the first provider to offer business-grade security as a standard feature across its mobile operating systems, and EE will also be the first provider in the UK to offer MobileIron Cloud.  Businesses will be able to use this system to manage their mobile apps, devices and general content.  It will also facilitate the enforcement of usage policies and will automatically shut down a device if it is lost or if the employee using it leaves the company.

Automated features of the MobileIron Cloud include user enrolment and configuration of the device, which allows employees to set up the devices for themselves.  New features of the system include a content catalogue, which makes file selection easier; these files can be updated when newer versions are released.  Content can be distributed by the administrators to various user groups and can also be assigned to various categories.

The stored content is encrypted and can be removed when needed, and a variety of mobile apps can be used to help with reporting expenses, making travel arrangements, customer relationship management and collaborating with others on projects. The business using the system can develop its own apps to suit its specific needs.

This system has been designed to allow businesses to make their operations fully mobile without compromising on security.
