The iPhone 7 is not yet ready to hit the shops; however, there are already plenty of rumours about what to expect from the new handset.

The first rumour is that the latest addition to the iPhone family will be slimmer, with reports that Apple will be able to take a few millimetres off the width of the handset. It is also rumoured that Apple will do away with the 3.5mm headphone jack, which is a familiar part of the iPhone; instead, the lightning socket will be used with an adapter for headphones. If this is the case, expect to pay extra for the adapter.

What about wireless charging? This could be a feature of the new handset, enabling charging while the user is listening to music. This rumour definitely has legs, given that Apple has already introduced wireless charging for its Watch. Some users have also mentioned that they miss the smaller handsets and it could be that Apple produces a smaller version of the iPhone 7 – perhaps an iPhone C model – and it could be that this model is ready for launch before the 7.

A whole new look could be in line for the new handset. If past experience is anything to go by, this is the year that Apple will choose to make major changes to the features of the phone. One of these features could be making the handset waterproof, while it is also possible that the new handset could have up to 256GB storage and better battery life.
