Samsung Galaxy S6 S6 Edge

It has been revealed that customers in the UK can pre-order the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge ahead of the release date of 10th April.

The Galaxy S6 Edge has been given a curved edge for more screen space, while the Galaxy S6 is its new sister smartphone. One of the new features of the Edge is that you can choose from a range of colours to identify who is calling when the handset is upside down.

The two handsets will have much the same features, although the Edge has been given a larger battery pack. The Edge is made from more glass and metal than plastic and will be less than 7mm thick. It has 3GB of RAM and a processor that is considered more power efficient than on previous models.

Features of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge include a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED screen. Samsung claims that this is around 20% brighter than the S5 screen and that it is easier to see content when using the phone outdoors. Samsung also claims that charging the battery should be quicker than any other handsets, with a 10-minute charge giving four hours of use. Wireless charging is built in.

The Edge will use the Android L operating system and will include an improved version of TouchWiz. The handset has a 16MP camera with a wide-angle lens and there is also a 5MP front-facing camera.

Synergy Mobile is now taking pre-orders for both handsets.
