EE has decided to give six months of Apple Music for free to all its mobile customers on Pay Monthly contracts.

In addition to the free subscriptions, EE will not charge customers who use their mobile data plans to stream music during the six-month promotion.

EE originally restricted the offer to upgrading and new customers when it began the promotion last September. Its customers can begin to take advantage of the offer from 19th July. Customers who want to begin their free six-month subscription should text MUSIC to 150 from the effective date. Hollywood actor Kevin Bacon will feature in EE’s multi-million-pound advertising blitz to entice customers to sign up for the promotion.

Apple Music subscribers can use an app for streaming videos and music on both Android smartphones and iPhones. Apple Music’s current library contains over 40 million songs that subscribers can play back both offline and online.

EE CEO Marc Allera said: “Whether it’s the soundtrack to a Sunday morning run or the daily commute to work, EE customers can now access and stream millions of songs, playlists and shows – our treat.”

Customers who took advantage of EE’s previous Apple Music promotion are not eligible for this new offer, but they do qualify for unlimited free music streaming using their mobile data plans for six months.

However, any current Apple Music subscriber who did not sign up through EE can switch over to the new promotion.
