Apple unveiled its latest flagship smartphones at an official event last week and the early consensus from tech experts is that the iPhone Pro models are the ones to get.

The iPhone Pro and iPhone Pro Max, which are set to retail from £1,099 and £1,199 in the UK, respectively, are very expensive, but the premium price tag also brings with it a range of additional features compared to the entry-level iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus.

Exclusive to the Pro Models is a faster A16 bionic processor, ‘Dynamic Island’ interactive notch, ProMotion always-on display and upgraded cameras.

While the base models are probably enough for most users, they will be powered by last year’s A15 processor and have slower 60Hz refresh rate screens and a more traditional camera setup.

One vital feature that will be coming to all handsets is emergency calls for help via satellite, which can take as little as 15 seconds to send.

However, the most eye-catching addition, the Dynamic Island, will only be available on the iPhone 14 Pro and Max.

This is because it makes use of the new pill-shaped notch on the premium models for notifications, animations, timers and messages.

There is also a new 48-megapixel main camera in the triple-lens system on the Pro and Pro Max.

Those looking to get one of the Pro models have four colours to choose from this year: Deep Purple, Gold, Silver and Space Black.

Pre-orders opened on Friday and orders will begin shipping on 16th September.
